Greene County Extension is hosting a series of Ag Coffee events, bringing together farmers and other ag professionals for an informal discussion on current ag topics.
The topic of an Ag Coffee Friday, Jan. 24, will be local on-farm demonstration trials with Mike Witt, ISU Extension & Outreach field agronomist. The program will start at 9:30 am and conclude by 11.
In 2019, 91 farmer-led demonstration trials were conducted in conjunction with ISU across the state of Iowa. These trials looked at fertilizer, seed treatment, fungicide application, agriculture mechanics and many other agronomic related topics. On-farm trials are farmer inspired ideas that showcase current practices or management tactics to provide local data for local answers.
The January meeting is sponsored by Heartland Banks. No reservations are needed. Persons who want more information can call the Extension office at 515-386-2138.
